SUNDAY, MARCH 8
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY RALLY & MARCH
Corte Madera Town park

Time:
*Sign making materials will be available from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the plaza outside Cafe Verde for those wanting to make signs.
10:30 AM: Rally in Corte Madera Town Park behind the Community Center
11:00 AM: March from the CM Town Park to Menke Park and back.
This is a safe and peaceful event for moms, daughters and grandmothers and a great way for moms and dads to teach their daughters about the need to advocate for women’s rights which, sadly, are never guaranteed. In both the US and globally inequality, disparate pay, violence against women, human trafficking, poverty, barriers to education, and attacks on freedom of choice are still rampant, and the US has yet to ratify the ERA and make it the law of the land. Our work is not done and on this day we gather to reaffirm our commitment to keep fighting for women’s rights.

Please save the date, spread the word, start making your signs, and join is on Sunday, March 8th.

We have the power and are claiming it together. What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become one of the most sustained national resistance movements against tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers across every community determined to defend democracy. This peaceful movement is bigger than ever and is growing steadily. When families are terrorized, peaceful protesters are murdered, costs are steadily rising, healthcare, climate initiatives and fair elections are under attack, racism is sanctioned by the President, and retaliation, corruption and deceit have become the norm, silence is not an option. We must defend our democracy, our freedoms and our vulnerable communities against this administration’s corruption and callous cruelty. On this date we will once again rise up to defend our democracy and our values.

This is a sidewalk protest. Because the Tamalpais/Madera Blvd. is a busy intersection we urge you to leave small children and dogs at home, or to protest at the Eastman intersection at the CM Park. For safety reasons we strongly discourage protesters from gathering on the 101 overpass.

All local protest actions are nonviolent, lawful, and community-led. Our core principle is a commitment to nonviolent action without civil disobedience. We ask all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully and respectfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should never be brought to events. Participants assume full responsibility for the own conduct and actions.

Please save the date, spread the word, start making your signs and join us on March 28th to make this the largest protest against the Trump regime ever.
If you are on Next Door, don’t forget to join the ‘Defend Democracy’ group; and, you might find this George Will video worth watching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-82lMgXLpC8

Hope to see you at these upcoming events.

In solidarity,
Anita
